If you are planning for Manali to Leh road trip then try to leave Manali early so that you can avoid the congested roads at Rohtang Pass. And if you are choosing the road trip from Srinagar-Leh then leave for Srinagar early morning so that you can avoid the traffic jam at Zojila Pass.

Khardung La Pass: The highest motorable road in the world, this is what makes you feel you've achieved something when you reach this place. There is one small cafe which serves yummy Masala Maggi and Kahwa - this is something you should not miss.
Nubra Valley: After crossing Khardungla, The beauty starts from there itself. The valley is a unique combo of the snow clad mountain, river shyok, sand dunes and much much more. At Hunter, you can enjoy the ride with double humped camels. Many species of birds are also available. This place has a perfect remedy of night view, the moon, the dessert; the overall ambiance makes it absolutely amazing and mesmerizing experience to stay at Nubra. Must carry a good camera and winter clothes, and a cigarette is not available at Nubra.
Pangong Lake: It is a beautiful lake with crystal blue waters blessed with pleasant weather throughout the year. And a clear night sky could give an excellent backdrop for some night shots in the backdrop of Lake. In Between the route ( Leh to Pangong ), if anywhere you get a chance to drink Lemon Tea then Don’t miss to have it. You may carry cycles and pedal around the lake. You may also visit Chulsul village and Merak Monastery to look at a picturesque view of the lake.
Tso Moriri Lake: A mystical magical lake in Ladakh. Mighty, endless, vast, abundant, clear, beautiful and pure. It touched and moved us like only Nature can. At Tso Moriri, all we could do was bow down and feel blessed at having witnessed it. Tso Moriri, at a distance of around 250 km from Leh is a high altitude mountain lake at a height of around 4500 m, in Ladakh, the Tso-Kar Lake is known as 'White Lake' on the grounds that the white salt of the water stores everywhere throughout the lake shores. Tso-Kar Lake is the littlest lake among the three vital lakes in Ladakh.
Turtuk: Located on the India-Pakistan border, Turtuk is a beautiful village in the Nubra Valley of Leh district that lies on the banks of the Shyok river and boasts of greenery the likes of which cannot be found anywhere else in the region. The abundance of flora in this region, especially the apricot trees, exists because it lies at a lower altitude as compared to the rest of Nubra Valley.
The road from Diskit to Turtuk goes past the mesmerizing sand dunes of Hunder and then it goes alongside the River Shyok (“The River of Death”) which has the clearest turquoise blue waters you’ll ever see.
